Danish modernist sterling silver brooch and matching earrings set by Bent Knudsen of Denmark, featuring a sleek atomic-era design with dramatic swept forms, sharp sculptural points, and a beautiful high-polish finish. The set has a bold mid-century Scandinavian look, blending clean minimalist lines with space-age movement and architectural form.
The brooch has an elongated abstract comet, wing, or arrowhead silhouette with a fluid curved profile and pointed cutout detail. The coordinating earrings echo the same dynamic shape in miniature, creating a cohesive and highly wearable designer set. The polished sterling silver surface reflects light beautifully, emphasizing the dimensional curves and modernist geometry.
This is a wonderful collector’s set for lovers of Danish studio jewelry, Scandinavian modern design, and mid-century atomic-era silver. Elegant enough for evening wear, but bold and minimal enough to style with contemporary clothing.
Typical of Bent Knudsen, the set is extremely well made, the earrings have been converted to post back/pierced style earrings with 925 sterling silver posts and backs. They have also been professionally polished and look stunning! Please excuse the lines and reflections as they have a mirror like glossy finish and are hard to photograph. Included with purchase is a converter so the brooch can be worn as a pendant if preferred.

Bent Knudsen (1924-1997) trained at Carl Cohr in Fredericia and then worked for the Hans Hansen smithy until 1956 when he started his own workshop with his wife Anni (1927-). Their creations, always marked Bent K, and clearly inspired by Bent's time at Hans Hansen, exhibited the understated, clear and simple lines that are the hallmark of Danish Modern. Their work does not appear frequently on the market, and is much sought after. Whilst the workshop existed until a few years ago, production of silver items was gradually phased out during the 1970s, when another of their passions, the paper cut, became their major concern and this has enjoyed worldwide acclaim and sales ever since.
