Striking vintage modernist earrings attributed to celebrated American studio jeweler Ed Wiener, crafted in sterling silver with an expressive, kinetic construction. Each earring features an open rectangular framework crossed by three slender silver rods, finished with irregular hand-worked spherical terminals.

The geometric lower elements are suspended from simple rectangular screw-back mounts by curved wire connectors, allowing them to move freely with the wearer. This articulated design creates subtle motion and highlights the contrast between the earrings’ structured architectural form and their organic, textured details.

The darkened recesses and softly worn surfaces emphasize the handmade character of the silver, giving the pair a distinctive mid-century studio-jewelry presence. Bold yet highly wearable, these earrings would make an excellent addition to a collection of American modernist, sculptural, or kinetic jewelry.

They could easily and inexpensively be converted to post back earrings by a jeweler.

I've only ever seen one other pair like these and they sold on 1st Dibs a few years back. They were featured in one of his print ads in the 1950's. (Which is copyrighted, so I couldn't post here unfortunately)
