Arne Johansen was born in 1927 and qualified as a silversmith in 1951 before establishing his workshop in Roskilde, Denmark, in 1954. His family later became involved in the production and sale of his work, and the workshop remained active until 1993. Johansen’s jewelry is admired for its clarity of line, elegant simplicity, substantial use of silver, and exceptional craftsmanship—qualities that place his work firmly within the tradition of mid-century Danish modernist design.
