Danish modernist sterling silver brooch by Bjorklund / Brdr. B Denmark, dating to the mid-century era, circa 1960s. This sculptural floral brooch features a bold three-dimensional flower or sunburst form, with polished elongated sterling silver petals radiating outward from a central cabochon stone.
The center is set with a beautiful soft lavender-blue chalcedony cabochon, framed by a ring of raised sterling silver beadwork. The brooch has wonderful depth and movement, with each petal formed in a rounded, dimensional shape that catches the light beautifully. Oxidized recesses around the beadwork and petals give the piece added contrast and highlight its handmade Danish modernist design.
A rare and highly collectible Scandinavian studio jewelry piece, ideal for collectors of Danish sterling, mid-century modern jewelry, or statement floral brooches.
Please excuse the black lines and reflections as the finish is quite shiny. Included with purchase is a converter so it can be worn as a pendant on a chain if preferred.
