Stunning  vintage Moshe Ben-David sterling silver statement brooch pendant necklace, crafted in a bold Israeli modernist style with strong Yemenite silversmith influence. The centerpiece features a large oval iridescent green-blue glass panel, likely ancient Roman glass, with natural surface texture and luminous flashes of teal, aqua, cobalt, and emerald. A sculptural sterling silver ribbon form sweeps across the face of the piece, accented by a small deep red garnet — and a pearl.

This substantial piece has wonderful movement and presence, combining organic modernist form with Ben-David’s signature interest in ancient materials, silverwork, and one-of-a-kind wearable art. Designed as a versatile brooch/pendant, it can be worn pinned to a jacket, scarf, or wrap, or suspended from the accompanying chain as a dramatic necklace.

A rare collector’s piece for lovers of Israeli modernist jewelry, Roman glass jewelry, Maskit-era design, studio silver, and 1970s–1980s artisan statement jewelry.

Moshe Ben-David is associated with Yemenite silverwork and modern Israeli jewelry design. His own site describes his work as combining seven generations of Yemenite tradition with modern creativity, and specifically notes his use of antique Roman glass in silver jewelry. The current Moshe Ben David Roman glass collection describes the material as ancient archaeological glass set in handmade 925 sterling silver, with the iridescent surface formed over centuries in mineral-rich soil.
