Beautiful set of modernist designed earrings by boutique artist Carolyn Thomas. The earrings are 2 part and the flat back piece has a raised bezel set smooth oval Amethyst stone. It could be also considered "earring enhancers" and you could change out the large ball studs for something else. They recently been professionally polished and look phenomenal. Please excuse the lines or reflections, as they are extremely shiny and hard to photograph.

Carolyn Thomas Kingson was born in New Orleans and received a Ph.D. from Tulane in 1969. She spent thirty-seven years in, Dixon a small village in northern New Mexico, just North of Taos, where she made unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry, with a modernist flair and Native American influences. She has retired from jewelry making and now lives in Mexico with her husband, dividing time between San Pancho on the Pacific coast in the winter and San Sebastian in the mountains in the summer. She is also an accomplished author.
